Deadly Flash is a fictional computer virus from the .hack series.

According to the "forums" of the PlayStation 2 game, .hack//Liminality, seven people were killed when the virus had struck their computers. The way it did this was to emit a strobe light effect on the computer at fast speeds. If anyone were to look at it on their monitors, it would damage their pituitary gland severely enough to kill them.

In the .hack universe, Deadly Flash was first recorded in December of 2003. The Japanese man who created the virus was the very first person ever to be given the death penalty for an Internet crime.
