Fat Cobra first appeared in issue 8 of Marvel Comics, "The Immortal Iron Fist" (2007). He was created by writers Matt Fraction, Ed Brubaker, and Pencilled by David Aja.
Fat Cobra is first seen in the second arc of Immortal Iron Fist, titled "The Seven Capital Cities of Heaven," where he represents one of the seven Cities (K'un L'un home of the Iron Fist is one) in a Tournament for their right to come to earth once every decade, those who fail will lock their respected city away for a half a century.
