The eighth generation in the history of video games is set to begin in the Fall of 2010, with the release of a number of new technologies. The Nintendo 3DS will bring 3D gaming to hand-held devices.[1] Sony will launch the Playstation Move motion-gaming platform as an add-on for the PS3.[2] Microsoft will release its hands-free gaming platform for the Xbox 360, currently dubbed Project Natal.[3] Project Natal means "of or relating to birth", reflecting Microsoft's view of the project as "the birth of the next generation of home entertainment".[4]
