Jessica Kumari was born and raised in Clearwater Beach, Florida, later attending Georgetown University, actively participating as a writer and reporter for the college station, GUTV.

After graduating, she moved to New York City, and over the next four years expanded her career through the NBC Page Program, being a production assistant and desk assistant for The NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw and The News with Brian Williams, as well as being a reporter and anchor for News 12, The Bronx/Brooklyn.

In 2007 she joined Channel One News by NBC, as an anchor and reporter, covering stories ranging from the United States Presidential Campaigns to The Separation between North and South Korea.[1]
