"Middleverse" was also the title of an episode of the animated series X-Men: Evolution
The Middleverse is a fictional universe created by Javier Grillo-Marxuach. So far it has only appeared in a single comic series, but at least three one-shot spin-offs are planned. The Middleverse is named for its first leading character, The Middle Man.
The Middleverse is centered around the principle that comic book villains who try to destroy or take over the world do in fact exist. A program was created only Ida knows how long ago to "Fight evil so you don't have to." The title and persona of Middle Man is passed down from teacher to student and the only common link between any of them is Ida herself.
