"The Fourth Man in the Fire" is the eighth episode of the first season of the HBO television series True Blood. It was written by producer Alexander Woo and directed by Michael Lehmann. It aired on 26 October, 2008.

Episode summaryEdit

Sookie rushes towards the four burnt coffins containing four unidentifiable bodies one of which is assumedly Bill. Tara's mother throws out all of her liquor and makes Tara breakfeast much to her surprise. Meanwhile Jason discovers he and Amy had not even had sex but a V fueled experienced. Sookie is obsessively cleaning when Tara enters and discovers fang marks on her neck from Bill. Terry confronts Sam about Sam's running naked in the forest and Sam conviences Terry it wasn't him. Sookie visits Bill's grave from the civil war and she breaks down into tears. As she leaves an arm reaches through the dirt and grabs her by the leg. Bill pulls himself out of the dirt (he is naked) and he and Sookie have sex. Rene (Michael Raymond James) pops the question to Arlene while Sookie is baby-sitting her kids. Later, at Bill's request, Sookie agrees to use her gifts to help Eric root out a thief at Fangtasia.
